Truecaller introduced its AI-based call screening feature for Android and iOS back in 2022. Yet, only Australia and the United States saw a significant amount of the launch. This has now actually reached India. Read on to learn more.
Truecaller’s AI-driven Call Screening Is Here!
Finally available in India, Truecaller’s AI-based Call Screening Assistant is free to use for the first 14 days. After that, this function will be a part of the Truecaller Premium Assistant membership plan, which will cost you Rs 99 for the first month and Rs 149 for each subsequent month.
The assistant enables this voice-to-text capability using Truecaller’s own AI algorithm. Not only will the assistant pick up the phone on your behalf, but she’ll also deal with the caller on the other end!
When you enable this function, the AI assistant will take your call in real time and transcribe the conversation for you. Also, you will receive on-screen action buttons that you can hit to improve the way the assistant interacts with you by using set triggers. Also, if you are unable to answer a call, you can make your own personalised greetings. You can choose from a variety of helper languages and voices. Around 100 languages, including regional ones like Hindi, are supported.
Particularly now, when the number of spam calls is on the rise, this feature is quite helpful. This AI helper, when combined with the long-standing Caller ID recognition feature and the recently added call recording capability, will undoubtedly help us find some relief from spam calls.
It is still unclear when the Call Screening feature would become accessible for iOS, though. In the video we’ve included below, we go into more depth about the new Truecaller feature. If you test it out, please share your opinions about it.
