New Typing Indicators
This month, the business also replaced its classic Typing… sign with a new, modern one that is seen in other apps like iMessage and Instagram. It appears when the other person is typing, and because it is animated, it has a more appealing appearance.
Transcribe Voice Messages
You can now transcribe voice messages that you have received on WhatsApp. If you are unable to hear the message itself, you can use this to read the contents of a voice note.
Add Yours Stickers
By tapping the interactive sticker, people can create a chain and share status updates. Instagram’s version allows you to see who started the chain and what other people have shared, but this one does not appear to offer either of those things. Although it is still in its early stages, I hope it will soon be available to everyone.
Animated Emojis
Although some of the app’s emojis are already animated, it appears that WhatsApp is expanding this functionality to the message replies feature.Some beta testers spotted this feature, where reacting to a message with Party Popper, Partying Face, and Confetti Ball emojis, triggers a festive confetti-like animation
WhatsApp Meta AI Improvements
We already talked about the next AI’s one-on-one voice chat feature, but now we get a sneak peek at how its new dedicated screen will seem. As you can see, it resembles the voice chat screen of ChatGPT, offering the choice to type or speak.
Group Mentions
Last month, WhatsApp officially rolled out the mentions feature in status updates for everyone. But it only lets you select individual contacts, that too up to 5 only. But now, the app is testing the ability to mention a group as well. This will alert every member of said group when you tag them in your updates, indirectly allowing you to mention a large circle of friends.
Add Message Before Forwarding
WhatsApp is currently testing the ability to attach a custom message to a forwarding message.
